Planning a Christmas Proposal: Our Guide

There is something about the festive season that makes it feel made for proposals. The lights, the celebrations, the people you love close by. If you are dreaming of a Christmas proposal, here is how to make it perfect.
In this guide
- Start early
- Choose your moment
- Decide on private or public
- Keep the ring safe
- Capture the moment
- Celebrate together
1. Start early
The weeks before Christmas are among the busiest of the year, so give yourself time. Choosing the ring, making sure the size is right and adding any personal touches all go more smoothly without a deadline looming. Book a consultation early to secure a time that suits you.
2. Choose your moment
A Christmas proposal does not have to happen on Christmas Day. Some of the most memorable proposals happen on a quiet evening among the Christmas lights, at a festive dinner for two, or on Christmas Eve before the celebrations begin. Choose the moment that feels most like the two of you.
3. Decide on private or public
Would your partner love to be surrounded by family, or would they prefer a private moment first? Many people propose privately and share the news with family afterwards, which gives you both time to enjoy it.
4. Keep the ring safe
With family visiting and presents everywhere, keep the ring somewhere only you know. And resist hiding it in a Christmas pudding or a glass of champagne. It is far too easy to lose (or swallow).
5. Capture the moment
Ask a trusted friend or family member to discreetly capture the moment. You will treasure those photographs forever.
6. Celebrate together
Once they have said yes, you may like to bring your new fiancé(e) into the boutique. If the ring needs adjusting, your first sizing is complimentary within three months of purchase or proposal (conditions apply). Please note we are closed on Christmas Day.
